Let's get on the same page about trauma
Trauma is nuanced, understanding this is critical for your anyone who wants to heal and emotionally mature
Let’s talk about trauma. What comes to mind to you when you come across this term? Are you imagining car crashes, deaths, and other disasters? Then you’re not wrong. Amongst its many meanings, trauma does refer to big, horrible events—experiences we make that we wouldn’t wish on our worst enemies. Maybe you even take it a step further and include less horrific yet still highly painful or stressful experiences. Even then, you wouldn’t have completely accurately described what trauma really means.
In this article, I will lay out what trauma is and how understanding it is fundamental, as exploring our own traumas is what keeps us moving forward. Chipping away at our traumas, we keep revealing deeper or different layers, slowly shedding them, unlocking healthier, more mature, more confident, and freer parts of ourselves.
