In today’s newsletter article, I want to talk to you about the importance of checking in with the narratives you are creating in your head about yourself, your life, and your relationships. Humans are meaning-making machines; it’s how our brain works. Always putting things into context. Constantly comparing the input it receives to things that have happened in the past and projecting how they influence things in the future. We often forget that our brains aren’t perfect, and we need to double-check what conclusions and beliefs our brains form. 

I took this photo on my recent trip to Italy, driving thorugh Tuscany has been one of my favorite trips ever. In this picture we stopped in Montepultiano for some delicious wine tasting.

We are storytellers in our heads. We are always creating connections where there might not be any and creating stories in our heads that may confirm the way we feel about all the things we have experienced in the past but do not reflect actual reality. It’s important to become aware of this and mentally understand it to live happier and healthier lives.
