Being a people-pleaser means you sacrifice your own needs and wants to please others, leading you to lose connection to your authentic self and destruction of your self-esteem. It can also lead to burnout, resentment, and inability to set healthy boundaries. It’s important to learn to find a balance between being considerate of others and taking care of yourself.

People-pleasing is a behavior and mindset many of us have, often without even realizing it. When we people-please we put the needs and wants of others before our own, to avoid conflict, rejection, disappointment, or abandonment.

Overall people-pleasing might seem like innocent or even positive traits but the reality is that people-pleasing has severe negative effects on our mental health and well-being.
