Taking Responsibility for What Isn’t Ours

I used to believe that other people’s emotions, reactions, and words were somehow my responsibility. If someone was upset, I thought it was my job to fix it. If someone lashed out, I would replay the situation over and over, wondering what I could have done differently. It felt like I was constantly walking on eggshells, trying to manage not just my own feelings but everyone else’s too. It was exhausting.
